On March 2014, APC introduced a new service for its clients: in collaboration with ARSUTORIA School of Milan, APC created some video guides to share with its clients the best-practices in using APC products. This section will be updated as more videos will be created, so stay tuned.

APC STARTEX for sneaker reinforcing
The demonstration of this video wants to highlight the possibility of reinforcing the entire upper with the STARTEX article instead of using traditional reinforcements. The advantage is to cut a smaller quantity of pieces and materials. All this would be so much more uniform and stable coupled with advantages also in the final appearance as we will see at the end of the construction
APC STARTEX for sandal reinforcing
The demonstration of this video wants to highlight the possibility of reinforcing the entire upper with the STARTEX article instead of using traditional reinforcements. The advantage is to cut a smaller quantity of pieces and materials. All this would be so much more uniform and stable coupled with advantages also in the final appearance of the sandal strips as we will see at the end of the construction
APC ANGEL for woman's Derby
In this example, we cut the mask of a Derby for women so that the material can easily leap to the shoe shoe but without distorting the silhouette of the shoe.
APC ANGEL for derby fringe coupling
We use the adhesive film to pair two pieces of leather, calf and goat, and then cut a fringe with many carvings that might loosen if you use a layer of traditional glue.
APC ANGEL for lycra ankle boot
The design of the shoe features an elastic insert on the sides of the jacket that is flexible and robust but at the same time thinner than the traditional elastic used in these cases. Again, the film was melted between two thicknesses of a thin elastic fabric then folded on itself. The purpose was achieved because the boot booted smoothly. The material has been traditionally sewn without any disadvantages either to the thread or the needle, giving the more elegant style given by the much finer meshes.
APC ANGEL for sneaker mesh coupling
In this prototype we have created a combination of mesh 3D, usually used for athletic shoes, and suede. The leather is normally not provided with an adhesive side, so the only way to assemble the upper is the traditional seam. In this case, however, it was desired to paste the suede backings on the net following the melting system typical of sports shoes made with synthetic materials.
Reinforcements of machine crimped vamps
Applying reinforcing materials the correct way is of fundamental importance in obtaining top-quality results. In this lesson we'll show you the most common defects and mistakes when using technical materials in crimping.
Reinforcements of machine lasted shoe vamps
In this video, Paolo Marenghi from ARSUTORIA School shows how to correctly cut and apply reinforcing fabrics on footwear vamps, and shows the consequences of an incorrect use while lasting.
APC STARTEX for bag reinforcement
The STARTEX material we use for the construction of some components of bags is available in different thicknesses. For our use we have selected the thicknesses 0.5-0.7 and 0.9 mm. all thermo-adhesives. It is a non-woven fabric with a fusion of plastic material. The coating to make it, optionally, thermo-adhesive or self-adhesive can be of a different nature.
APC AURORA 0,7mm for bag reinforcing
Very durable and compact material, but at the same time soft, which allows the bag to be sustained without giving rigidity. Available in various thicknesses, can be supplied adhesive and non-adhesive fusible.
APC Chiara 1mm for bag front face
In this video we show the application of the APC product Chiara 1mm on a bag front face to stuff and strengthen at the same time
APC Chiara 0,5mm for bag bellows gusset
This kind of gusset has to work like a bellow, so the leather must flex without breaking or worning out. APC Chiara 0,5mm is the perfect reinforcing for our needs
APC Chiara 0,5mm for bag gusset with piping
Using APC Chiara 0,5mm on this really thin bag gusset with piping, allows us to achieve a great level of softness and strength, adding minimal thickness to the whole piece
APC BETA 30 2mm for bag structured front flap
APC BETA 30 2mm it's the fundamental component to give softness, a nice touch feeling, looks but, most of all, construction strength: it ensures that the flap keeps its shape as time goes by.
APC Chiara 1mm for bag simple front flap
In the case of a bag with a soft and easily cut flap and counterflap, we could successfully employ a 1mm thin reinforcing layer/padding which gives more firmness to the piece
APC BETA 30 2mm for bag bottom with metal feet
The use of expanded foams is also very effective in the case of the bottom of a structured bag, to which is applied a light layer of cardboard, or similar material, to strengthen and give more stability.
